Mystique, a Luxury Collection Resort in Santorini, makes elegance look easy.
Right when I entered the resort, I was overwhelmed by the simplicity, yet at the same time also the decadence. Situated on Oia’s famous cliffs, every room at Mystique features dazzling views of clear, blue, crystalline waters, the volcano, and the Aegean Caldera.
The design of the property pays homage to nature while oozing a sense of luxury at every turn. Kalia, the owner, met us at the reception terrace with a cool drink and she talked about the property with so much passion. We felt as if we were guests in her home – and a very elegant home at that.
Every comfort was attended to, from private meals to personalized concierge experiences. We were then left to enjoy the resort, swim in the infinity plunge pools, and grab a cocktail at Aura, an alluring bar with panoramic views out to sea and the Caldera.
A must-do is heading over to the Secret Wine Cave for a wine tasting at sunset, then having dinner at Charisma for authentic Greek cuisine or Asea for amazing Japanese. The spa also offers revitalizing services in two treatment rooms and there’s a state-of-the-art gym to work off those big, delectable meals.
Room with More than a View
I stayed in the Mystery Villa room category, which was a spacious villa featuring a private plunge pool. It felt like being in some kind of luxurious cave. It was cozy in a decadent way. The moment I walked in I also noticed a bespoke smell, and Kalia explained that the property had its own scent created by Korres, which was fantastic. The toiletries in the bathroom were all Korres products as well, locally made and organic.
The room also featured a fruit platter and the bar was always stocked with cold drinks, wine, and Champagne – and we’re talking mini Moet bottles. All complimentary.

If I had to Choose One – Definitely Charisma
The cuisine here was simply amazing, and the views were exceptional. But when in Greece, eat the local flavors! Charisma was the spot for authentic Greek food, with the freshest produce and impeccable service. Also, keep in mind that Santorini is famous for their white wine. I have no idea what the varietal is, but I can say that it is delicious.
Sailing with a Twist
One must-do activity on site has to be the Sunset Champagne Sailing, though other options include reaching new levels of serenity at the Day Spa.
We were picked up at the dock and taken over to the yacht where we were met by the crew. They sailed us around and then anchored in a tranquil part of the sea where we jumped off and got to take a dip. Afterwards, we were greeted back on board with a light meal and drinks. Drink in hand, and music in the background, we watched the most incredible sunset. It was a truly memorable day.

Santorini is also known for their cliff-hanging structures, and Mystique is one of them, which means lots of steps. Also, keep in mind that it is an adults-only property. It is also a seasonal destination. Santorini shuts down from November to May, so book only outside of that timeframe. During the holiday season, Oia has a variety of high-end boutiques, local arts & crafts, and great restaurants and bars, so there’s plenty to do even beyond the resort property.
