A Stay in Modern Elegance
Wake up with fantastic views of Chicago by staying at trendy, modern LondonHouse Chicago, a boutique hotel situated right on the river just steps from Michigan Avenue & Wacker Drive. From my room, I was able to see a stunning look out at the city just past the bed frame. It was always a great sight to wake up to.
The Breakfast Spot You Can’t Miss
Like any great city, Chicago boasts some seriously delectable cuisine. To start the day, just twelve blocks north of LondonHouse, the Café des Architectes inside the Sofitel Hotel boasts a delightful brunch in an intimate and inviting setting, plus irresistible French cuisine. The 20-seat outdoor patio also allows you to enjoy everything from outside in good weather.
The menu boasts homemade recipes made every day from scratch, and the hollandaise sauce is silky smooth and surprisingly memorable. The coffee is imported from Italy and the waffles are light and fluffy. This is the must-stop place for the perfect breakfast when in town.

Building up Another Appetite
After breakfast, go for a stroll north along Michigan Avenue and take it all in. The streets scream with live music, excitement, and people. Jump on a boat cruise between the high-rises of Chicago along the Chicago River and enjoy gliding along this mecca of architectural brilliance.
Time for Lunch
Off the boat, make your way to one of Chicago’s best oyster houses, Fisk & Co., and slurp oysters finished with a variety of garnishes. These top-notch oysters will hit the spot. They offer $1 Happy Hour oysters, and the setting is hip and chic, resembling a Belgian bistro. They also have an extensive and high-end beer list if all the walking and exploring has put you in the mood for a proper drink.

The Shopping is Magnificent
Literally. The Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue offers some of the best shopping in the world, so be sure to stroll past more than 460 retailers including the most popular brands, and great restaurants. Some musts to take home with you when visiting Chicago is something Al Capone related, like a t-shirt or cup. Secondly, step into Lou Malnati’s and ship yourself a true Chicago-style deep dish pizza, plus a delicious bag of Chicago Mix Garrets Popcorn, the perfect blending of cheddar cheese and caramel (trust us – it’s great!)
Time for Dinner
Siena Tavern is the way to go. This award-winning, trendy spot serves up a great atmosphere filled with laughter and Italian cuisine on another level. Start with the Coccoli and Wagyu Meatball; continue with the Gnocchi, Short Rib Ravioli, and Spinach Cavatelli. They also have great seafood entrées and pizza. And do your best to leave room for desserts like the Caramel Cookie Jar and the phenomenal Tiramisu.
Have a Night on the Town
Wind things down with a nightcap through the secret entrances to Brando’s Speakeasy or The Drifter. Enjoy an old fashioned cocktail and feel like you’re in the Prohibition Era.
